			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Six Pack Exercises- Are Your Exercises to Get a Six Pack a Waste of Time?   by John McMills</p>
<p>If I&#8217;ve seen it once, I&#8217;ve seen it a thousand times. Some guy is complaining about how his six pack exercises consist of hundreds of crunches on a regular basis and he&#8217;s still not getting any results. If you&#8217;re doing hundreds of crunches&#8230; that&#8217;s why you&#8217;re not getting any results.<br />
When seeking a six pack, you&#8217;re looking to build muscle, and high reps do not build muscle! High reps are considered endurance training, which does nothing but convert fast-twitch muscle fibers to slow-twitch. Your six pack exercises need to include low reps with high resistance as muscle is created by overload, and more muscle is created using progressive overload (a term you may be familiar with). Basically, when the body strains to move weight that is towards the upper limit of what it can handle, it decides that it must adapt to be able to move large amounts of weight, which is done by building more muscle (after the initial breakdown). The progressive overload just means that in order to build more muscle, each time you must do more than you had your previous workout.</p>
<p>Six pack exercises are made to work the rectus abdominis, which makes up the muscles of the six pack. If you read at all through the previous paragraphs, you should have a basic idea of the six pack exercises you should be doing by now, but I&#8217;ll spell them out for you anyway. The simplest would be the weighted crunch. Place a weight on your chest and fold your arms over it (or grab it behind your head) and lift your upper torso up, not up and forwards. That is one of the most common mistakes that keeps you from isolating your abs. You can go as high as twenty reps, but I&#8217;d recommend no higher. Aim for at least three sets, and if you&#8217;re doing very low reps, you&#8217;ll need more than that.</p>
<p>You might ask, &#8220;Are those really all the six pack exercises I need?&#8221; Well, if you have a solid nutrition plan and a low body fat percentage (or a plan to get one soon), then yes, you can get a six pack with just this. You will have apparent muscular imbalances as your rectus abdominis will be trained and your obliques probably won&#8217;t be, but the point I&#8217;m trying to make it that you needn&#8217;t overcomplicate your six pack exercises. If you create a demand on your muscles and they have enough fuel and rest to grow, they will. I wish you the best of luck in your six pack quest.</p>

<p>Of all exercise programs you can take to lose weight, nothing comes close to walking, in the limit of its simplicity and effectiveness. Naturally, there are some other exercises that can burn calories in a shorter period but most of these exercises involve activities with higher printing and they have usually resulted in higher rates of damage. Walking wins out as the only exercise that will allow you to burn calories consistently over the long term.<br />
In fact, you might consider walking as an exercise the most perfect in the world. Here are the reasons:</p>

<p>Bodyweight Training for extremely explosive power.<br />
Bodyweight training has been on the rise as of late and the reason is it works. It has always worked, it has worked for millions of years.</p>
<p>You will benefit from the many years of research that bodyweight training is and always will be the way for the fastest, greatest and natural results ever.</p>
<p>Our bodies are made to be explosive, our bodies are made to work. There was a time when survival was the key. Survival meaning you had to hunt for food. You had to have extreme endurance. you had to be able to sprint, climb, jump do whatever to stay alive, and if you were slow you didn&#8217;t eat or may die.</p>
<p>As a matter of fact in this hard-core world you better be strong, fast and explosive because you never know when your life or a loved ones life will be on the line.</p>
<p>Using bodyweight training as a way to total fitness is a great way to tap in to the natural element of your body.</p>
<p>There are a ton of exercise programs out there, some good some bad. You don&#8217;t need any other piece of equipment to build a strong lean, athletic body then what you already have.</p>
<p>Bodyweight training is very effective for all your fitness objectives. I personally don&#8217;t want to spend 2 hours a day in the gym. So that&#8217;s why I love bodyweight training it&#8217;s quick and gets the job done fast.</p>
<p>Years ago I could lift a lot of weight and I thought I was fit. I found I was strong but not conditioned. And I was not explosive. I was big, strong and slow and that was fine as long as I was just going to the gym.</p>
<p>But here I am 15 years later 85lbs lighter, quicker, explosive and have more overall body strength then I did squatting 600lbs or bench pressing 350lbs.</p>
<p>Training explosive and fast will get you explosive and fast. I don&#8217;t recommend you train explosive everyday but I would spend time training fast and explosive for a more conditioned body.</p>
<p>I do use some slow training like isometrics, dynamic resistance which will build a lot of strength but I still rather train for explosive strength then to have slow type strength.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a pushup exercise you can try for explosive strength.</p>
<p>You will need a small step about 12&#8243; tall or something study.</p>
<p>Make sure when you do these your face won&#8217;t hit the object.</p>
<p>In a standing position- drop down into a wide pushup position from there you will explode up bringing your hands closer together doing another pushup, explode up and this time bringing your hands together almost touching then you will do another pushup and this time explode up and forward landing on the step. You can repeat this a few times.</p>
<p>Or you can do the same just start in the pushup position and do the 4 pushups start wide, regular, close, explode up and out but this time push back off the step close, regular, wide.</p>

<p>Muscle toning is a very vague word. Toning can mean something completely different to different women. So for the sake of this article, let&#8217;s say that muscle toning for women means&#8230; building tight, lean, feminine muscle&#8230; that can make you Feminine Ripped.<br />
Here are some tips to help you develop a body that has feminine muscle&#8230; that boasts a rapid metabolism&#8230; and one that you feel proud and confident to be in.</p>
<p>1. Weight Training</p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve read any of the my other Hubpages, you know that I heavily prescribe proper weight training to all women. This is because it&#8217;s the only way to build true muscle in a woman.</p>
<p>Weight training workouts do not have to be long. 30 to a maximum of 40 minutes two to three times a week is all you really need to completely change your body.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important to make sure you are doing full body workouts. There is no need to do any sort of split routine. A split routine is when you only work either one or two body parts each day. Unless you are doing specialized bodybuilding training&#8230; don&#8217;t do it.</p>
<p>2. Protein in Your Diet</p>
<p>It&#8217;s important as well to have protein in your diet to help build your muscle. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein and protein is the building block of your muscles.</p>
<p>The reason weight training is so effective is because when you&#8217;re doing it, your muscles are being torn on the smallest of levels. Your body then will sweep in and build new muscle fibers to restore and grow your muscle.</p>
<p>This new muscle needs protein and other nutrients to grow and become healthy. So having a diet that has healthy levels of protein is very important. I suggest that you go buy a tub of whey protein and drink one shake a day&#8230; right after your workout on workout days.</p>
<p>3. Make Sure You Rest</p>
<p>Finally for proper muscle toning for women&#8230; that&#8217;s you&#8230; you need to make sure you are getting proper rest. This is one of the coolest things about proper weight training&#8230; you need to rest a lot.</p>
<p>Because you are in a sense damaging your body, it is going to need time to recover before you workout again. This isn&#8217;t the case with any other form of exercise. Things like cardio, aerobics, even yoga only burn calories while you&#8217;re doing them&#8230; weight training keeps the burn going up to 48 hours after your workout.</p>
<p>So you actually get all the benefits of your weight training program not while your working out, but while your at rest.</p>
<p>I hope that helps you better understand how to get properly toned as a woman. Building strong lean muscle is the greatest thing you can do to your body and will change your life for a long long time.</p>

<p>There might be many reasons you want to start a new, healthy life. You might be some, or lot overweight, you might be slim, but still feels you have an unhealthy life.<br />
There might be several reasons you might want to change your life to be healthier. My advice is simple, be clever and start setting goals. Set goals to eat more healthy food. Vegetables, fish, fruits, white meat. The best way getting started might be to set goals on learning to cook easy and healthy food. I am sure you can find books both at the local library and Amazon which suit your needs.</p>
<p>Most often you can create small, healthy meals in less time than you use to go to a restaurant or fast food place. And most often you will be able to create meals that taste better.</p>
<p>Anyway, at least I believe natural food is better and healthier than premade food, and most of us have become lazy and don&#8217;t bother to create anything at home, at expense of distorting some of our health.</p>
<p>Another important issue is that many of us have a bad habit of eating a few meals a day, and each being a large meal, we also often have the last meal just before we go to bed. All of this is fundamentally wrong. We should eat at least 5 meals each day, and neither of them should be large. If you still eat large meals, maybe you should have 6 or 7 meals each day, but five is enough for most of us. The last meals should be at least 2-3 hours before we go to sleep, simply because the body don&#8217;t work as well burning the food while we are asleep, the body should be working while we are awake and doing things.</p>
<p>To <a href="http://www.healthdevelopment.enlightenedindividual.com/category/rapid-weight-loss/">efficiently lose weight </a> , we should also learn to exercise efficient. One of the best exercises you can do is running/jogging or swimming, again exercises that are natural for our body.</p>
<p>The most important step when setting goals are to set enjoyable goals which is fun, and eating food that is tasty. Else you only start a diet you will soon stop. It&#8217;s much more important to have something that is fun, something that makes you feel good.</p>
<p>So if you want a healthier life; start creating plans and schedules. Create a plan that let you exercise efficient for something, get some cooking books and plan meals for the next month. Start setting up at what time you will eat to make sure you eat at least five meals a day, and last one being hours before you go to sleep. I know the last one will be bit different in the beginning as the stomach might be rumbling a bit since it&#8217;s used to get meal before going to sleep, but it&#8217;s really not good for your body to be working on a full stomach when it&#8217;s supposed to sleep and relax.</p>

<p>You just got done with your workout and you are coming off the buzz that your workout gave you. Your body feels really good, and drenched in your own sweat as if it is a badge of courage for the effort that you gave to improve your body. Now what do you do? Normally people don&#8217;t really think much about what to do when their workout is over. Most people think that the workout is over when they step off the treadmill, come into the house after running around the block, or drop the dumbbells after their final set. Yet, if you just end your workout you aren&#8217;t taking full advantage of the time that you put into working out.<br />
While your muscles should feel somewhat refreshed after a hard workout, that feeling won&#8217;t last long. The feeling is usually replaced with one of soreness and stiffness. Training your body in order to drop weight certainly isn&#8217;t a single day endeavor. You are going to have to use those same muscles the next day when you resume your workout routine. The best way to help reduce the stiffness and soreness of your muscles is to add a stretching routine onto the end of your workout. Stretching your body helps it to build long lean muscles. Those are the same muscles that women are really trying to get right now, because they give their body that long, slender sexy look. In addition, stretching after a workout will help your muscles to recover faster. That means less pain the following day when you are trying to use them. There are numerous stretches that will cover the entire body, but you should try to include at least one stretch from the major muscle groups. There are seven major muscle groups that will cover the majority of your body. Your front muscles (chest, abs, etc.), back, upper left side, upper right side, groin, right leg and left leg. Find a stretch that will work these major areas of your body, and be sure to hold each of the stretches twice for at least twenty seconds. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results that you will see on your body.</p>
<p>After workout nutrition is very important. When you are working out using resistance training you are trying to tear the muscle fibers in your body. Your body will then repair those tears, and in doing so create new muscle. To do this task your body requires protein. Protein is the building block that your body uses to create new muscle. Right after a hard workout is a great time to add protein to your diet to increase your results. Whey protein is a great way of supplying your body with an instant boast of protein. Whey protein, unlike soy, is much easier for your body to digest. The faster that your body is able to process the protein, the more efficiently your body will build lean muscle. After workouts your body is also seeking out quick energy to replenish your body; which means that if you are trying to lose weight, this is the time that your body is burning a high volume of calories. Other protein supplements contain fats and carbohydrates that will impede your body from burning fat, but whey protein isolates are 90% pure protein so they don&#8217;t contain the same high levels of carbohydrates and fats of other protein supplements. Whey protein just helps your body to build lean muscle which helps you to burn more fat and lose weight.</p>
<p>Hydration is also very important. If your body doesn&#8217;t have enough water it goes into conservation survival mode. That lowers your metabolism and also stops your body from creating muscle. It is important that after a workout to be sure to get a proper amount of liquids.</p>
<p>To get the most out of your workout, you have to be thinking about what you&#8217;re doing immediately after finishing. Don&#8217;t waste the time and energy you put into working out by squandering the chances you have to make a big difference through stretching, nutrition and hydration.</p>

<p>There are times when getting up to work or doing anything sensible seems to be the least attractive thing to do. Everyone wants to slow down sometimes and this also happen with regards to scheduled workouts. Low motivation levels generally get in the way towards one&#8217;s goal of having a well and healthy body.<br />
People who get older tend to gain weight by the gradual loss of their body mass and slow metabolism. This physiological change starts from 20-30. Exercise has been proven as a preventive measure for the excess fat in gaining weight all human beings would eventually go through.</p>
<p>Exercises range from different age groups and body size and everyone at any age can do it if he or she is properly guided.</p>
<p>Some people believe that exercise alone can ensure their desired body weight. But recent studies show that genetics play an important role at how well a person responds to the physical activity.</p>
<p>Spot reducing or choosing the part of your body to work on to burn fat is one of the most common exercise myths. In order to burn fat, one must do a combination of proper nutrition, strength and cardiovascular training.</p>
<p>Some people might believe that the only place or the best place to do exercise is the gym. But there is no known difference in the rate of how effective a chosen exercise program is, whether it is home-based or in the gym, as long as the person is consistently doing it.</p>
