There might be many reasons you want to start a new, healthy life. You might be some, or lot overweight, you might be slim, but still feels you have an unhealthy life.
There might be several reasons you might want to change your life to be healthier. My advice is simple, be clever and start setting goals. Set goals to eat more healthy food. Vegetables, fish, fruits, white meat. The best way getting started might be to set goals on learning to cook easy and healthy food. I am sure you can find books both at the local library and Amazon which suit your needs.

Most often you can create small, healthy meals in less time than you use to go to a restaurant or fast food place. And most often you will be able to create meals that taste better.

Anyway, at least I believe natural food is better and healthier than premade food, and most of us have become lazy and don’t bother to create anything at home, at expense of distorting some of our health.

Another important issue is that many of us have a bad habit of eating a few meals a day, and each being a large meal, we also often have the last meal just before we go to bed. All of this is fundamentally wrong. We should eat at least 5 meals each day, and neither of them should be large. If you still eat large meals, maybe you should have 6 or 7 meals each day, but five is enough for most of us. The last meals should be at least 2-3 hours before we go to sleep, simply because the body don’t work as well burning the food while we are asleep, the body should be working while we are awake and doing things.

To efficiently lose weight , we should also learn to exercise efficient. One of the best exercises you can do is running/jogging or swimming, again exercises that are natural for our body.

The most important step when setting goals are to set enjoyable goals which is fun, and eating food that is tasty. Else you only start a diet you will soon stop. It’s much more important to have something that is fun, something that makes you feel good.

So if you want a healthier life; start creating plans and schedules. Create a plan that let you exercise efficient for something, get some cooking books and plan meals for the next month. Start setting up at what time you will eat to make sure you eat at least five meals a day, and last one being hours before you go to sleep. I know the last one will be bit different in the beginning as the stomach might be rumbling a bit since it’s used to get meal before going to sleep, but it’s really not good for your body to be working on a full stomach when it’s supposed to sleep and relax.

Trade in the elevator for stairs. Instead of taking the elevator up and down, or using the escalator, opt for the stairs. Going up and down the stairs is a great workout, and if you use the stairs two to three times per day, you can burn approximately 20 calories on each trip. If you take the stairs twice a day (once to start the day and once to end it), five days a week, you’re burning approximately 100 calories per week.

Do it standing. Most of the time you type away at your computer while sitting at your desk. Mix it up and position your computer so you can work while sitting and standing. Stand up and type periodically throughout the day. Typing on your computer keyboard while standing helps you to burn more calories than by sitting. For example, if you type for 20 minutes while standing, you’ll burn over 50 calories.

Brisk walk coffee breaks. Taking a break from the daily grind by stepping away from your desk refreshes your mind and gives you moments of clarity. Step away from your desk for 10 minutes every 2-3 hours and use this time to take a brisk walk. Brisk 10-minute walks equate to shedding about 50 calories. A couple of breaks each day equates to 100 calories or 500 calories each week! That is some serious calorie burning.

Walk before lunch. Before eating lunch, take a brisk 10-minute walk. This allows the food you eat for lunch to feed your muscles instead of the calories being stored as fat. The brisk walk burns about 50 calories, and reduces the amount of fat left in your body when lunch is over.

Use your time at work to multitask. Give your body a workout while you’re doing your job. You’ll burn calories, shed fat, and save yourself time at the gym. It’s also an easy step toward creating a healthier body and lifestyle.

If you’ve made fast weight loss your goal, keep a few simple things in mind to take off the pounds quickly and safely.

Skipping meals is one of the first things people often try when they want to lose weight. It makes sense, right, cut out the calories by eating one fewer meal. Fewer calories means losing weight, right? That’s correct but skipping meals isn’t the right way to reduce calories. When you skip meals your body goes into starvation mode. It starts to retain fat to counteract what it perceives as a food shortage.

Another problem with skipping meals is that when you finally eat you’ll be a lot more hungry. The result is binge eating. Skipping meals is the worst of both worlds that results in gaining even more weight. Don’t do it.

Know how much to eat. It’s called portion control and it’s as important as eating the right foods. Too much of even a healthy food still results in weight gain. It’s hard to do when large portions are so common. Restaurants and even most people in home cooking serve portions far larger than needed. The FDA and other sources list recommended daily allowances. If you must eat out, keep portion size in mind. Don’t eat the full portion served at the restaurant, or order less than a full meal, such as soup and a salad.

Replace white foods such as white bread, white rice and sugar with whole grain foods. Whole grains are lower in fat and higher in nutrients. The fiber in whole grains helps you become full faster, and feel fuller longer. Also whole grains contain many nutrients that are often lacking in people’s diets.

Consume more water. Drink it instead of juices and sodas which add about 90,000 calories to the average person’s diet each year. Drink it between meals too. In fact, the goal is 8 glasses of water each day. It seems like a lot, but it’s not. Drinking water will also promote health in general by keeping you well hydrated and cool.

In order to maintain proper blood sugar eat healthy snacks between meals since the body needs food every three to four hours. Healthy snacks also help control eating at meal times.

Fast weight loss is realistic with some knowledge and planning. It won’t be long before you’re slimmer and trimmer.
